Marissa and Matt in NYC

It's been quite a hectic few days here in New York. Yesterday afternoon I met up with Marissa and Matt and we had a GREAT e-session. They are so cool.

Marissa is from Chattanooga and Matt is from Princeton, New Jersey, where they are getting married next May. Matt said that Marissa came across our website a couple years ago and bookmarked it. And once they became engaged she called.

So this was the first time we actually met. And I'm sooooo glad we did. They are so much fun, and I absolutely can't wait for their wedding. Marissa is a nurse and Matt is a Graphic Designer. He's also in a band and he has super cool hair! I'm telling you, these two have some serious style, and I love it!

We started in Central Park...

Then we took a cab South and stopped at the Meat Packing District. Traffic was bad and by the time we arrived it was dark. But what fun!!!!

Then we headed to one of their favorite hangouts, The Dove. And the funny thing is that several of Matt's colleagues from work showed up there for a party, so they had a bit of an audience. Even though, they did fantastic!

For the photographers reading, these were actually probably the darkest environment I've ever shot in before. These two were shot with a 50mm 1.4 at 1600 ISO, hand-held at 1/10th.

Okay, it was getting late and we were getting really hungry. So we grabbed one more shot at NYU before heading to dinner. I love the crazy up-lighting!

Thanks so much, Marissa and Matt, for spending the evening with me. And Robert (Matt's best man), you were a great bag carrier...such a trooper. Thanks A TON! :-)

Hey I love these pictures! I was just in NY and hung out at meat packing district, a cute cottage restaurant called "5-9." I actually took some fun model shots of my friends there two years ago. Nothing compared to what I see here. I certainly admire how you played with the warm lightening. Fabulous!
