When Curt called several months ago to see if we were available to photograph their wedding in Washington DC we were immediately excited. He and Rachel were guests at Heather and Todd's wedding in May at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead Atlanta.
We talked at great length about their photographic preferences and they were very clear that above all else they wanted us to capture moments and emotions. Rachel and Curt and their families made it easy. They had the most beautiful wedding and we were so privileged to be there with them.
The florals.
Vera Wang wedding shoes and...
Stuart Weitzman dancing shoes!
Signing the Ketubah.
Curt's brother-in-law using two cameras at the same time!
Rachel's smile is contagious...you'll notice it's a theme.
I love how Jewish weddings involve both parents escorting their child down the aisle.
Smiling at everyone smiling.
It's official!
Sometimes it does take a village. ;-)
One of my favorite images of the night. Curt and his father.
The first dance. Rachel's Vera Wang gown was lovely and we were particularly fond of the fringed bow in the back.
The Hora is always one of my favorite moments of the wedding celebration.
The father-daughter dance.
When both parents are marrying off their last child, they do the Mezinka. Both mothers are seated side by side on the dance floor with wreaths placed on their heads, while the wedding party and guests dance around them.
Rachel's father during one of the toasts.
We were also excited that our wedding clients and dear friends Heather and Todd were there to celebrate with Rachel and Curt. Todd joked when I took this picture that I could use it in our marketing material to show what a happy couple looks like after 6 months of wedded bliss. :-)
Since we were unable to squeeze in an engagement session prior to their wedding, we did one the day after the wedding. It was so cold, but they braved the wind and burr and we got some really fun images.
We had the rare and unusual opportunity to ride with the bride and groom back to the hotel after the wedding. And on the way Rachel and Curt acknowledged what Joy and I noticed all night long. They both have absolutely amazing families who care so deeply for each other. It was a blessing to witness and a true joy to photograph.
Congratulations, Rachel and Curt on your marriage and on your new life together. It was an absolute pleasure spending the day with you. May God continue to bless you.

You've captured some great moments here man. They look so happy. Made me want to be there. The shot of the groom and his dad in the doorway is my favorite as well.
Absolutely gorgeous you guys!
Awesome! Evidently you made it into Washington in time for the wedding! :) I hope next time you're in the area we can get together.

Absolutely beautiful. Getting choked up. The image of the groom and his dad...perfection. It takes a highly skilled and perceptive artist to capture moments like these. Congratulations to all!
