WPPI Awards of Excellence

It's one thing to press the shutter and capture great images from weddings and portrait sessions, but it's another to create art. Joy and I have really challenged ourselves the past year to work together and create works of art--images that sing with emotion and feeling.

One of the best learning experiences a photographer can have is to participate in the WPPI 16x20 print competition. After two days of intense judging, more than 2500 entries reviewed, images receiving an award of excellence (score of 80 and above) are displayed in row after row for all to see.

We were pleased this year to have 6 award of excellence images on display. They are:













Thanks to our wonderful clients and subjects for working with us and helping us create something special that goes beyond the photographs themselves.

Congratulations... what an amazing accomplishment! I really like your statement about creating art... I think that is something every photographer should strive for. When this happens, I think the true emotions of the day will be captured in their photos, just like you have done here.

Absolutly beautiful! I can see why you won, I expecially like the groom photo at the end. Very Sopranos, you guys really rose to your own challenge. Congrats!
