One more from Norway

Please humor me. I found one more image from Silje and Crispin's wedding that I wanted to share.



I was standing in the back of the sanctuary and my eye caught a flare off of one of the guests. Dressed in traditional Norwegian attire, this gentleman sported a bunad knife, which is reserved only for special occasions. We speculated that perhaps it might be used in the event that someone comes and tries to steal the bride. Fortunately we didn't have to find out.

Nevertheless, his outfit and the girls clowning around behind him made for a fun image.

We've made it through most of the images from Silje and Crispin's wedding in Norway and I couldn't wait any longer, so here's a peak. These guys did great! It was so much fun.

The Norwegian custom is for all of the guests to bring cakes as their admission to the reception. There was A LOT of cake! And it was good!


These two kids cracked me up. They were plotting a clear strategy in preparation for the cake feast.


I love juxtaposition, and we use it most often in portraits. But this time we were able to include it in a detail shot. Fun!

Lisa and Lex

Okay, okay, I know we're behind with the blog. Over the past four weekends we've been in Norway, Santa Barbara, St. Augustine and this weekend we'll be in Mississippi. All the traveling and it's been hard to schedule time for blogging.

We're still sifting through all of Silje and Crispin's Norway files, but for now here are a couple from Lisa and Lex in Santa Barbara. They had a beautiful wedding at Elings Park. We had such a blast working with them and we're so grateful to Kathryn and David (two of our amazing clients from last year) for referring them.

Fiesta in Santa Barbara

This weekend we were in Santa Barbara for Lisa and Lex's wedding. It was beautiful and they were so much fun to photograph. We got a great "Tyra-esque" shot of Lisa that we can't wait to post.

While we were there we had the privilege to see some of our dear friends and also make some new ones. On Friday evening we had dinner with DJ, Vanessa, Amy, Janey, and Gary. DJ is so kind, he invited us to stay at his new home. It's kind of small, but we're managing. LOL! Actually we didn't even bump into each other until the third day! LOL!

He was the consummate host, leaving chocolate on the bed.


And here's the view. There's no camera that could do this view justice.



It was Fiesta week in Santa Barbara. Even through we were there, we're still not sure what that means, other than that it gives everyone an excuse to break these crazy confetti eggs on each other's head and scream "FIESTA!!!!!"





On the wedding day, our good friend Regis drove up from Orange County to shoot with us. He shot with us in Orlando in June and he's so much fun to work with. If he didn't live so far away we could do this every weekend!

On Sunday we went the Santa Barbara Polo Club to watch a polo match with DJ and his friend Josh. It was so much fun! And what's crazy is that about 8 miles from our house there's a really nice farm that occasionally hosts polo tournaments and we've never gone.






Then we came back and spent some time downtown, shopping, eating and shopping and eating some more.

I was emptying the card from our mini-canon and I found a few remaining images from Norway. Andrew claims he has Norwegian ancestors, but I'm pretty sure Joy doesn't. LOL! Nevertheless, fun images that I had to share.

Off to Santa Barbara, CA!

We're off again! We got home on Wednesday night from Norway and now back in the Atlanta airport to go to Santa Barbara. We are photographing Lisa and Lex's wedding! I think we are staying with David Jay at his new home :) We fly in around mid-afternoon. Should be a blast!

PS. If any of you are around this weekend, we are there til Monday afternoon. We would love to see you.

Coming home

Today we headed to Stavern with Silje and Crispin to do some photographs along the coastline. It was absolutely beautiful! Pics to come...

We head to the airport in a couple hours.
