Behind, but not for long...

Oh, goodness, I've fallen so far behind with the blog, and for that I apologize. Please don't give up on us. :-) I promise to show pics from Emily and Matthew's Tennessee wedding shortly, and then Andrea and Justin's wedding that took place a few days ago in beautiful Clearwater, FL. And of course we've got some fun portraits that took place in between that I need to post as well.

But for now, I'll leave you with this picture. And yes, I think they deserve a post of their own. The shoes made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) and the rest of the gals from SATC. Yes, these are the Manolos featured in the movie released last spring and they were worn beautifully last weekend by our bride Andrea.

Congrats....and fabulous taste!

Brandi and Nick, married in Orlando

We were excited to photograph Brandi and Nick's wedding last week in Orlando at Paradise Cove. Brandi and Nick are such an amazing couple and it was an honor to be there to document their day.

Brandi wore a beautiful Ann Barge gown from Solutions Bridal in Winter Park.

The event was coordinated by Stephanie of Blush by Brandee Gaar, and as always, they do a tremendous job. And a special thanks to Sarah McDonald of Limelight Photography in Tampa, for spending the day photographing with me.

Finally, Brandi and Nick, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your special day. Your families are absolutely wonderful and it was an honor for us to be there with you. May God richly bless you as you begin this exciting new journey together.

Happy Birthday, Gray!

I grew up in a family of boys. There were three of us and I was the oldest. So when it came time for Joy and me to have children, we were shooting for a boy. But I missed.

Gray was born on May 8, 2005, and our life hasn’t been the same since. And then just a few short months ago we added little Campbell, making Graycen a big sister.

So at this point I’m 0 for 2 when it comes to having boys. And you know what, THAT’S FINE! I love shopping for the girls, taking Gray to gymnastics and her ball games, obliging her to do ‘photoshoots’, and doing all the other things that girls’ daddies do. (note: check back when she’s a teenager and we’ll see how I feel).

Last night I spent the night with Gray. While she was downstairs before bedtime, I snuck upstairs and built a little fort and made a bed with all of her favorite blankets, and her princess picture book that we made last year at Disney.

When she walked into her bedroom and saw her ‘castle bed’, she said, “It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! Daddy, where did you find a castle bed? Do I get to sleep in there?”

Then Joy told her that I was sleeping in there with her. “Ooooo-kayyyy, so you’re going to be the prince,” she said matter-of-factly.

We read Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, while she held the flashlight. Then we sang Jesus Loves Me and Happy Birthday.

Finally we turned off the flashlight and lamp and laid our heads on the pillow. We listened to her favorite Taylor Swift songs on my iPhone, and as I laid on my side looking over at her, her eyes were closed and her face was covered in the biggest smile I’ve ever seen.

I closed my eyes, with a similar smile, and just seconds later, I felt her hand on my shoulder as she pulled herself close. Ahhhhh, sweet dreams.

Happy birthday, Gray! I hope today is just as magical.

Kristin, Senior 09

Kristin is graduating in a few weeks, and we enjoyed the opportunity to work together a few weeks ago and create some senior portraits.

I think this one is my favorite because of the lines and patterns.

Thanks so much, Kristin for choosing us for your senior portraits. Congratulations on all your success and we wish you a super-bright future!
